When to book maternity and newborn photos.
Maternity and newborn photos run on a calendar you don't fully control. Here's how to plan both so neither window is missed.
Maternity
Many photographers suggest the third trimester, around 28 to 34 weeks, when the bump is clear and you're still comfortable on the sand. My maternity session is 60 to 90 minutes, for $425, and golden hour on the beach or under a pier is a favorite.
Newborn
Newborn sessions happen within roughly the first two weeks after birth, at home in window light. The newborn session is up to 2 hours, for $595, so there's time to feed and settle.
Book them together
The Bump to Baby combo is $895 for one of each. Combo clients reserve their newborn window when they book, so it's held for you whenever the baby decides to arrive. Weather and baby-arrival reschedules are free.
There's also a hospital "Fresh 48" visit within 48 hours of birth ($350) and a 3-month milestone mini session.
